Off the crossbar!

Two seconds yesterday is no good to the profit/loss but were happy they ran well, if Mourilyan had got going quicker he may well have got there, but it wasn't to be.

Today is probably the day of the hardest races on the five day card, but we feel we may have found the winners of the cavalry charges. But then we would wouldn't we!!

We like the look of three very nice priced horses today.

2.10 Couttes Glorious Stakes 1m 4f - Indian Spirit
A race not known for producing double figure priced winners but this one can very much buck that trend today. Five lengths behind Doctor Fremantle last time out over this distance is very appealing for for this race. Promoted to fourth in the group race he very much looked like laying it down to the winner 2f out before petering out and becoming one paced. Richard Hughes likes this horse and feels a nice win can be had with it. At around 12/1 he should run a good solid race.

2.45 Rolf Group Stewards Sprint Stakes 6f - Harrison George
Richard Fahey has sent five of the runners for this, and all of his runners have to be taken seriously. But the one that stands out best is the selection. He has a great draw, Ryan Moore in the saddle and will very much like the bit of juice in the ground. You could argue that another Fahey runner (Sunrise Safari) holds him on their last run, but this course will suit better and with the draw advantage he now has we feel a big run is on the table for him at 7/1.

3.25 Totesport Mile 1m - Docofthebay EW
An old favourite of ours, this horse loves these big fields, having run very well in the past at this course. Needs to step up on his form this year but the best time to catch him is fresh and again with Ryan Moore up (we don't sponsor him ha ha) he looks sure to run his race. Not the most reliable but on a fair mark and a decent draw. Each-way at around 25/1 he will be carrying our hopes in the big one!

A nice winner yesterday!

A nice 8/1 winner yesterday and we felt the other two ran well without winning. Sweetheart looked like it could have gone round again, never in danger. I think we can now safely say Soto is a monkey, it will win this season but we wont be putting it up on here again.

Our 3 for today.

2.45 Goodwood Audi Stakes 5f - Sugar Free EW
While today is a huge step up for this filly, we feel she can make the grade. 5f is her ideal trip and the ground will suit to perfection. With the weight allowances she finds herself right at the bottom of the card and this will play into her favour. Her win last time out looks good and while she needs to step up, we feel she can! At around 12/1 she is an outstanding EW selection.

3.25 Coutts Goodwood Cup 2m - Mourilyan
It would be amazing to see Carraciola win but the Tom Watson of horse racing might just find the opposition too good today. Mourilyan is the one for us today, the run last time out over a trip too short for him, showed to us that he will need every yard of this 2m distance. Talked about as a serious Ledger Horse he will need to be showing something today to prove that. The stable is out of form but we feel this horse will put pay to that today. 9/1 will do us!

5.00 Guinness Galway Handicap Hurdle 2m - Deutshland
Not an inspired choice in this race but everything looks right for him today. A very usefull horse he spreads his form over flat and hurdles. Some very good runs on the flat this season including a hatrick of victories will have put him spot on for this and he gets in on a very attractive weight. Ruby Walsh up and we cant see him losing at around 11/4.

Thank you for checking in!

We are sorry for not posting for so long. The broadband connection we use has had problem after problem. It was finally fixed yesterday but is dropping off when ever it chooses. We were very happy to see that people have still been dropping by the blog even when we haven't posted for so long. Thank you!

We have 3 fantastic selections for you today.

2.10 Goodwood 2m 5f Handicap - Sweetheart
Course form at Goodwood is a very handy thing to have in the bag, this horse won here earlier in the season and while closely matched with a few of the runners we feel non will appreciate the step up in trip more. Liam Jones is a very capable jockey and we see nothing but positives for this horse today. At around 7/1 it cant be missed.

3.25 Goodwood 1m Sussex Stakes Gp1 - Lord Shanakill EW
This horses last two runs have been a huge improvement on previous form, 3rd in the St James' Palace he then bettered that with a group win in France last time out over this trip. As with the last selection this horse really knows his way around this track, and that cant be ignored here. The big three in the field look sure to run their race but at 16/1 the selection is an outstanding each way bet.

5.35 Redcar 6f Handicap - Soto
Really forced the pace last time out and in our opinion ran a blinder. Not won for a while which is a worry but the horse is a model of consistency. Constantly running well without winning, but we have been advised that the horse is widely expected to win today with the 7lb claimer on board. Take the price early as we are hopeful the money will come over the course of the afternoon.

A new week!!

Apologies for no posts over the weekend. But we are back for a new week after a very nice start to the month on Friday.

Our thoughts were with Andy Murray, more aces, more winners and less unforced errors but still lost. Who said football was a funny old game? Andy Roddick showed himself to be an exceptional tennis player and a model professional.

Our 3 for today...

2.45 Mussleburgh 1m 6f Handicap - Baizically
After his last run you could argue the handicapper has got hold of him, but we disagree and feel there were logical reasons for last time outs poor run. Over today's trip which should suit him better and with conditions looking right for him, we are expecting a big run from this one today.

5.00 Brighton 5f Handicap - Louies Lad
If you like backing ungenuine horses then this is the one for you, always the bridesmaid and never the bride, this horse is consistently places and the word we have received over the weekend has told us its today or never. They are fully confident of a huge run today and are fully confident of him breaking his maiden tag.

7.20 Ripon 6f Fillies Maiden Auction Stakes - City Vaults Girl
A very encouraging debut at Pontefract we see no reason why this horse wont improve hugely from that run. A nicely bred filly who shaped as if winning wasn't far away after being right up in the firing line. With the stable in tremendous form and with this horse being their only entry on the card, she will go well tonight.

Thank you for continuing to check out the blog and again sorry for no posts over the weekend.

Its Murray time!

What a day of tennis lies ahead! Roger Federer should book his place in the final quite comfortably. Although Hass took two sets off him at the French Open, this is Wimbledon and grass and that wont be happening again today. The big battle of the day is obviously the battle of the two Andy's. We tipped up Murray from the start at around 4/1 and to be honest if he does make the final his price wont be much shorter, but he looks to have a cracking chance and we see no reason why he wont be facing Federer on Sunday. If he can find a first serve rhythm and pick his second serve up a little then Roddick doesn't really have much to worry the finest returner of serve on the tour.

This is our first post of July and we are confident of returning a very nice profit for this month. We have been told of at least four gambles happening this month and along with other sports it is sure to be a fantastic month of sports betting.

Today is full of extremely difficult to read cards, but we have three outstanding bets for today.

2.00 Doncaster 1m4f Handicap - Bollin Greta
The Easterby stable like to land a gamble and the money for the well handicapped Sporting Gesture could be significant. But we like what seems to be the stables number one chance, we are confident that a poor run last time will be left well behind. Everything looked in her favour at Ripon and for some reason she just didn't fire, but connections have persevered with the trip and a big run is on the cards.

2.20 Sandown 5f Handicap - Cake
This horse will relish this drop in drip after weakening in the final furlong over six last time out at Newmarket. We would expect this horse to come in for strong support and with a very good draw the horse will run a very good race today, we see no reason he wont run a place but could easily win this with Richard Hughes in the saddle.

4.10 Doncaster 7f Handicap - Musaalem
Loves this course and with a 4lb drop for his running at Royal Ascot last time this horse has massive appeal today. The Haggas/Hills partnership is one of our favourites and he is a standout bet.

Enjoy the days sport!
